Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)

Our Institute provides a stimulating learning environment where you may think about your professional options, pick up useful skills, and become recognised as a leader in your community and profession. Highly motivated students with a definite focus on jobs in biomedical/pharmaceutical research, biomedicine, and/or the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industries are intended for our four-year undergraduate curriculum, which leads to a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Every phase of the pharmaceutical lifecycle is covered by the plan, including patient care and outcomes, translation, regulation, and research and development.

Our curriculum is designed with industry standards in mind, allowing students to develop into exceptional practitioners through a smooth integration of theory and practise. Students are obliged to do a real-world internship, which enhances their skills and familiarises them with challenges, technology advancements, and industry trends.

 

Programme Intentions

  • To impart technical knowledge and the ability to show core proficiency in identifying and resolving issues in a range of pharmaceutical-related domains.
  • To increase public understanding of the rapidly changing pharmaceutical sector, as well as new areas of science and technology.
  • To instruct individuals on how to seek answers through observation, investigation, and experimentation.
  • To teach and cultivate in students the qualities of self-motivation, teamwork, leadership, and initiative that are essential for success in their chosen fields and organisations.
  • To encourage a passion for research, entrepreneurship, and higher education.
  • Give students clinical and industrial training so they can acquire the skills that industry trends demand.

Programme Design

  • The B. Pharma programme aims to give students a thorough understanding of the human body, diseases, drug molecules (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) and their interactions with excipients, natural drug resources, and the chemistry involved in producing APIs, including the synthesis of widely used medications. It also covers the impact of drugs on the body, toxicity, and impurity profiles, as well as ADME (adverse drug metabolism) studies, dosage form studies that include innovative methods, creating unique drug formulations, and clinical trials.

    Students also study patient counselling, industrial rules, drug distribution systems, and regulatory bodies that are involved in the pharmaceutical sector both domestically and internationally.

Eligibility

  • First Year B. Pharm Students:

    The candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam, which was administered by the relevant state or federal government and was recognised as being equivalent to the 10+2 exam administered by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). English was one of the required subjects, and the other optional subjects were physics, chemistry, mathematics, and/or biology (P.C.B. / P.C.M.). any additional credential that the Pharmacy Council of India has recognised as being comparable to any of the tests mentioned above.

    Lateral entrance into B. Pharm (till third semester)

    D. Pharm degree from a school recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India in accordance with Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

    Affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.

ADMISSION PROCESS IN B.PHARMA

  • There are the following courses offered by the Institute:

    Admission to B.Pharm:

    • By means of AKTU counselling: The candidate must take the Common University Entrance Exam and pass it (CUET-UG). The candidate must then take part in counselling at AKTU. The following link is available to applicants: https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/

     

    • Directly through admission: The candidate must register with the institute’s Admission Cell in order to be considered for direct admission against open seats through AKTU counselling.

     

    • Eligible candidates will register for a fee of Rs. 11,000/-(Rupees Eleven Thousand only).

     

    • On the basis of merit, the institute will admit candidates for the remaining open seats following AKTU counselling.

(D.Pharm) - Diploma in Pharmacy

Programme Objectives

  • The program’s structure will give the accepted candidate a solid foundation in pharmacy knowledge.
  • The candidate will gain expertise in a variety of sectors. It will hone skills in providing patient-centered care, problem-solving, education, patient advocacy, promoting health and wellbeing, population-based care, inter-professional collaboration, and communication.
  • The candidate will gain knowledge of effective verbal and nonverbal communication when working with a person, group, or organisation. Self-consciousness (Self-awareness) to examine and reflect on one’s knowledge, abilities, biases, motivations, and emotions that may promote or impede one’s personal

    and professional development. The most demanding and difficult trait that will develop in a candidate throughout course completion is novelty and free enterprise (innovator). It is possible to achieve professional goals by engaging in new activities and employing creative thinking to envision superior solutions. Proficiency (Professional) will be instilled with the values and behaviours that are congruent with the respect that society, other healthcare professionals, and patients have for the profession.

Programme Design

  • Students in the D.Pharm Course, are expected to have in-depth understanding of handling prescriptions and medications. The different types of drugs and their effects on the human body, as well as any negative effects, will become well-known to the students. In this course, they will receive practical instruction in managing the aforementioned items so they can handle them effectively at the wholesale and retail counters. For the same, students will complete an internship. The programme also covers hospital pharmacies and the community pharmacist’s function.

    Passed in 10+2 examination (science academic stream) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics or any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to the above examination.

    Affiliated to the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.

ADMISSION PROCESS IN D.PHARMA

  • By means of UPJEE(P) counselling: The candidate must show up for and pass the Uttar Pradesh UPJEE(P) Joint Entrance Examination Council (Polytechnic). Next, the candidate must select GMS College of Pharmacy, Shakarpur, Amroha (College Code: 1010) by participating in UPJEE(P) counselling.     Through direct admission: The candidate must register with the Institute’s Admission Cell in order to be considered for direct admission against open seats through UPJEE(P) counselling.

     

    • Eligible candidates will register for a fee of Rs. 11,000/-(Rupees Eleven Thousand only).

     

    • The Institute will, following UPJEE(P) counselling, grant admission to candidates for the remaining open seats based solely on merit.
